"Just outside Kyoto is a dream world called 'Arashiyama.' A mountain village with trails lined with towering bamboo connecting temples, zen gardens and tea houses with the finest array of 'onsen', or spas, in all of Japan.

At these spas, mineral-rich waters from deep within Japan's volcanic ground are pumped into large cedar tubs for bathing. My favourite time to visit is New Year's, when spa owners toss whole yuzu fruit into the tubs, letting them bob lazily around visitors relaxing in the steamy water.

'Arashiyama' captures my recollection of these baths. There is steamy cedar, ozone, and citrus in the winter air. I always leave these baths soothed, grounded, and refreshed.

Arashiyama is a fresh citrus and wood scent, with green notes, tart yuzu, salty cedarwood and ambergris. It finishes with softly smoky echoes of frankincense and sandalwood."
