There was a time, long ago, when perfume wasn’t designed to smell so separate from our bodies. Warm, dusty animal essences hummed and growled below heady, intoxicating flower oils, the latter pulled from wet petals onto glass plates of fat until the gunk sang like the euphoric fields of Grasse. The result was a daisy-yellow nectar destined to melt into the skin of bodies not as habitually clean as ours might be today. In fact, there might be no logical way to bridge the bodily scents of that era with the squeaky clean piccolo-trills of smell we now call 'fragrance'. 

"Ma Bête" is a perfume for that forgotten time. It is funky. It is ravishing. It is intimate and warm and ridiculously rich and dignified in its own way. It is totally unafraid of turning people off, but, we’d imagine, surprisingly adept at turning people on. This is how perfume used to celebrate being human, having a body, and desiring more than than we could ever name.
