Minimalist, intense, clear.

A perfume built around a natural CO2 extract of Boswellia serrata, aka incense; it captures the roughness of the climate of the semi desert where Boswellia trees thrives.

It is translucent like the first whiff of incense smoke from Boswellia resin on red gleaming coal. Yet, it is crisp like a night in the desert.

Head notes: Coriander with fresh petit grain.
Heart notes: A rich incense , softened with Orris wood.
Base notes: Dry and vibrant woods over a rich Ambergris base.

Review for No 05 Incense Extrême EDP

I grew up in Oman, and Omani frankincense is one of those smells that instantly transports me back to my childhood- it was everywhere- from the souks, to the heady attars that the adults wore, to the stuff my mum burned in the house on Fridays. While this formulation contains Indian frankincense, this definitely resembles the frankincense of my childhood memories more than any other perfume in my incense stash. Definitely not churchy like Avignon, and not warm/spicy like LDDM (although one can sense it came from the same place)- but it reminds me of the smell of burning frankincense, particularly the last bits when most of the oils have burned off. This one is cool, stark, dry, bitter incense with little else (maybe ambergris?), but goodness, it is magnificent!! And it lasts all day! (Oh, and 05 does not compare to Tauerville Incense Flash- I do love/own IF, but that is probably because I get whiffs of camphor and I love me some camphor on cold, bleak winter days. And, it is different enough to wear every so often. But I don't find the Tauerville "fuller" or "lusher" in any way, and longevity is also not quite as great.)
