Inspiration: The eau de parfum came by awe-inspiring moments when the sun reaches the horizon. Imagine sitting on the terrace on Elephantine Island in the middle of the river Nile near Aswan, enjoying the warmth of the evening sun, with your cocktail glass bursting in orange glitter. There is tobacco in the air. The sun disappears behind the horizon and the air is freshening up with cozy woody sweetness.
From Andy: "And here are some ingredients that actually make a difference and render Sundowner a harmonious experience: tobacco absolute, cocoa absolute, patchouli essential oil, rose absolute and orange peel oil. These naturals, together with bergamot oil and cinnamon essential oil, make up more than 30% of the composition."
Head notes: citrus sparkles, cinnamon, rose
Heart notes: cocoa, tobacco and cypriol
Base notes: sandalwood, tonka, amber gris, vanilla
Why you'll love it
No matter what you think of Andy Tauer’s uncompromising style, Sundowner is a must-try. Though the perfumer is Swiss, not Danish, there is something of the famous Danish concept of “hygge” in this scent. An untranslatable word meaning something like “the cozy feeling of drinking with friends at home by candlelight”, it brings to mind the cultivated pleasures of everyday revelry. But this is still a Tauer scent, so the dried fruit, dough and cocoa crackle like an impossibly sexy bonfire, the late summer citrus notes swoon and glow, and everything is etched in bold, vivid textures; dry and sweet, celebratory and at peace. Striking a delicious balance between swaggering and soothing, this is a scent for venturing outwards with your sense of home intact.
