With fiery red juice and a fearsome sculptural dragon head cap, “The World According to Arthur” is a study in visual misdirection. It’s not boozy and woody (“The Tragedy of Lord George”) or rugged and edgy (“Terrible Teddy”), but rather is a sumptuously silky ode to incense. At first spray, creamy rivulets of tonka pour like oat milk over chilled slices of fir tree. Blissful, abstract incense floats in on waves, weightless as ozone, cool as fog. We could imagine loving it anytime, anywhere, as a dreamily luxurious second skin with a hint, just a wink, of feathery smoke. “The World According to Arthur” is a peaceful one indeed.
