I find that sample collections like this are often on the pricier side for what you get, which makes sense given the packaging and labour involved - but still doesn't feel that great on the pocketbook.

I’m not a fan of when “perfume influencers” give definitive reviews – fragrance is so personal – so I won’t do that here. But if you’re curious about this brand, this set is a great way to explore their offerings.

As for the scents themselves, they were fine for me – none stood out as truly exceptional, but they do have impressive longevity, which is a real plus in today’s fragrance market.

I did get compliments while wearing Fox in the Henhouse – it’s a kind of animalic floral that I actually really enjoy. It has a slight bit of edge to something so pleasant. But, it's also fairly expensive and I'm not sure I'd want to wear it enough to buy a whole bottle.

Overall, I’d give this product a solid 4 stars.

Kind of overpriced but I’ve had them for a long time. The best ones are yesterday haze, Every storm a serenade(nearly all used) and memoirs of a trespasser. Honourable mention to fox in a flowerbed a really realistic take on a flowery perfume.

Great gift idea

A great way to explore the offerings of Imaginary Authors. The scents all seemed to be variations of outdoor adventures: lots of woodsy I’ve-been-camping sorts of smells. I particularly liked “A City on Fire”, “Every Storm a Serenade” and “Saint Julep”. While nothing was a definitely “NO” for me, I didn’t find a “winner” either, just lots of “almosts”. On me the scents lacked oomph and staying power. However, if you’re looking for something a little different but not too challenging, or not sure exactly what you’re looking for, I’d recommend this experience.

Not only is this product amazing but it was delivered promptly to my home and beautifully packaged. There is a scent for everyone in this set and it's a great way to get out of your comfort zone with perfume! :)
